Onboarding Guide

Installing your DashSharing Level 2 EV charger is the first step toward generating ongoing value. Follow this comprehensive guide or engage a certified professional electrician to ensure a safe and successful setup.

Important Safety Notice

If you are not experienced or comfortable working with electrical systems, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed electrician. Improper installation can create serious safety hazards, violate local codes, and void your product warranty.

Your Earnings Program: Two Paths to "Charger More, Earn More"

Your DashSharing Smart Charger is designed to generate increasing value through our tiered earnings program. You choose your path at purchase:

  • Option 1: Deposit Model (Start at $0.03/kWh)

    • Upfront: $450 deposit.

    • Benefit: Full $450 refund after your charger delivers its first 2,500 kWh.

    • Earnings: Your base rate starts at $0.03/kWh for all energy delivered.

  • Option 2: Direct Purchase (Start at $0.05/kWh)

    • Upfront: $599 purchase.

    • Benefit: Higher starting earnings from day one; no refund milestone.

    • Earnings: Your base rate starts at $0.05/kWh for all energy delivered.

For Both Options, Your Rate Grows:
Every time your charger delivers a cumulative 5,000 kWh (from personal or public use), your per-kWh base rate permanently increases by $0.01/kWh. This continues until you reach the top rate of $0.10/kWh for all energy delivered thereafter.

To unlock earnings and begin progressing through the tiers, you must complete the Network Activation steps in Part 2.

Prerequisites & Tools

  • DashSharing Level 2 EV Charger (included)

  • A dedicated 240V circuit (50 amp breaker recommended)

  • Appropriate gauge wiring (consult local electrical codes)

  • Mounting hardware (included)

  • Conduit and junction boxes (as required by local codes)

  • Basic tools: drill, level, wire strippers, screwdrivers

Part 1: Physical Installation

Step 1: Select Installation Location

  • Choose a site within cable reach of your vehicle’s parking spot.

  • Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound (e.g., concrete, brick, or wood studs).

  • Consider environmental factors and ensure easy cable connection to the vehicle.

Step 2: Prepare Electrical Supply

  • Install a dedicated 240V circuit from your main electrical panel to the charger location.

  • Use the correct wire gauge based on circuit length and amperage (50-amp breaker recommended).

  • Crucial: All work must comply with local electrical codes and permit requirements. Consider installing a disconnect switch near the charger.

Step 3: Mount the Charging Unit

  • Use a level to position the mounting bracket correctly.

  • Mark and drill pilot holes, then securely fasten the bracket to the wall.

  • Attach the charger unit to the bracket and ensure all hardware is tightened.

Step 4: Electrical Wiring

  1. TURN OFF POWER at the main circuit breaker panel.

  2. Run conduit (if required) and pull wires from the panel to the charger.

  3. Connect the wires (Line 1, Line 2, Ground) to the charger terminals according to the provided wiring diagram.

  4. Verify all connections are secure and properly insulated before attaching the final cover plate.

Step 5: Test and Initialize

  1. Restore power at the circuit breaker.

  2. Confirm the charger powers on by checking its indicator lights.

  3. Connect the charger to your local Wi-Fi network using the instructions in the package.

  4. Perform a functional test by connecting it to your electric vehicle, or using a test device with one of the provided RFID cards.

Part 2: Network Activation & Onboarding

To track your usage, enable earnings, and begin progressing through the earnings tiers, you must activate your charger on the DashSharing network.

  1. Download the App: Get the DashCharger application from your device’s app store.

  2. Create Account: Create a new Host account or log in to an existing one.

  3. Start Activation: Follow the in-app setup wizard, which will prompt you to:

    • Select Your Ownership Model: Confirm whether you purchased under Option 1 (Deposit Model) or Option 2 (Direct Purchase) . This sets your starting base rate.

    • Activate and Register Your Charger:

      • Navigate to “Profile” > “Add Charger.”

      • Enter the unique Charger ID (found on the shipping label and displayed during Wi-Fi setup).

      • Enter the charger's installation address.

      • Provide your hydro meter account name and number and upload a copy of your monthly electricity bill for verification.

      • Register one of the two provided RFID cards to bind the charger to your account.

    • Finalize Binding: Perform a remote start command via the app to complete the process.

Upon successful activation:

  • Earnings Begin: You will start earning your chosen base rate for all kWh delivered.

  • Tier Progress Starts: Your cumulative lifetime kWh total begins counting toward your first 5,000 kWh milestone for a $0.01/kWh rate increase.

  • Milestone Tracking: Your dashboard will show your progress toward the refund (Option 1 only) and your next rate increase tier.

  • Default Mode: Your charger defaults to Private Mode.

Optional: Enable Public Sharing (Amplify Your Earnings)

To increase your earnings by listing your charger for public use:

  1. Access the Host Portal: Log in to the web dashboard.

  2. Set Availability: Define your charger’s public access schedule and set your public session fee (which is added on top of your growing base rate).

  3. Manage Payments: Ensure your direct deposit information is updated to receive combined payments.

Part 3: Professional Installation Assistance

Prefer a hands-off installation? We can help.

  • Contact our Support Team for referrals to licensed electricians in your network.

  • Obtain quotes from certified installers to ensure compliance with all local codes and permit requirements.

  • Professional installation may be required to maintain full warranty coverage.

Troubleshooting & Support
