DashSharing Program: How It Works
As a DashSharing Member, you earn cash earning for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) your charger delivers for your personal EV use. Your earning rate is not fixed—it grows with your total lifetime consumption according to a clear tiered structure.
Your Member Tier Determines Your Starting Point:
- Standard Tier ($450 deposit): Your starting earning rate is $0.05/kWh.
- Ultra Tier ($599 deposit): Your starting earning rate is $0.06/kWh.
To begin earning and tracking your progress toward the refund and higher tiers, you must complete the Network Activation steps in Part 2.
Prerequisites for Your Licensed Electrician
Provide this checklist to your licensed electrician:
- DashSharing Level 2 EV Charger (provided by DashSharing)
- A dedicated 240V circuit (50 or 60 amp breaker recommended)
- Appropriate gauge wiring (must comply with local electrical codes)
- Mounting hardware (included with the charger)
- Conduit and junction boxes (as required by local codes)
Part 1: Professional Installation (To Be Completed by Your Licensed Electrician)
Your electrician will handle the physical installation. The steps below are for their reference.
Step 1: Select Installation Location
- Choose a site within cable reach of your vehicle’s parking spot.
- Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound (e.g., concrete, brick, or wood studs).
Step 2: Prepare Electrical Supply
- Install a dedicated 240V circuit from the main electrical panel to the charger location.
- Use the correct wire gauge based on circuit length and amperage.
- Crucial: All work must comply with local electrical codes and permit requirements. Consider installing a disconnect switch near the charger.
Step 3: Mount the Charging Unit
- Use a level to position the mounting bracket correctly.
- Mark and drill pilot holes, then securely fasten the bracket to the wall.
- Attach the charger unit to the bracket and ensure all hardware is tightened.
Step 4: Electrical Wiring
- TURN OFF POWER at the main circuit breaker panel.
- Run conduit (if required) and pull wires from the panel to the charger.
- Connect the wires (Line 1, Line 2, Ground) to the charger terminals according to the provided wiring diagram.
- Verify all connections are secure and properly insulated before attaching the final cover plate.
Step 5: Initial Power and Connectivity Test
- Restore power at the circuit breaker. Confirm the charger powers on by checking its indicator lights.
- Connect the charger to your local Wi-Fi network using the instructions in the package. Note: A continuous Wi-Fi connection is required for the charger to operate normally and track your rewards. If connectivity is lost, the charger will limit further use.
Part 2: Member Registration (To Be Completed by You in the App)
To activate your Member status, link your charger, and set up your payment information, you must complete the Registration process in the DashSharing app. "
Step 1: Network Activation
- Download the DashSharing app from your device's app store and create an account.
- Log in your account and follow the in-app wizard to add your charger using the unique Charger ID (found on the shipping label).
- Confirm the installation address (must match your application) and complete the binding process via a remote start command.
Step 2: Sign the Site Authorization
- Within the registration flow, you will be presented with the Site Authorization.
- Review the document carefully. By signing digitally, you authorize DashSharing all rights to install, access, maintain, and remove the charger at your property. This is a mandatory condition of your participation.
Step 3: Add Direct Deposit Information
- To receive your cash earnings, you must enroll in direct deposit.
- In the registration section, enter your valid banking details (institution number, transit number, account number). DashSharing uses this information to process all reward withdrawals once your balance reaches the $100 minimum threshold.
Upon completing all three steps, your Host registration will be finalized, and you can begin earning immediately with every eligible charging session.
Part 3: Troubleshooting & Support
Charger Not Powering On:
- Verify the circuit breaker is ON.
- Ask your electrician to check all wire connections and confirm 240V power at the outlet.
Wi-Fi Connection Issues:
- Ensure strong signal strength at the charger location.
- Confirm correct network credentials are entered.
- Try restarting the charger by cycling power at the breaker.
Charger Not Found in App:
- Confirm the charger is successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Verify you are logged into the correct Host account (the one used in your application).
- Ensure the Charger ID was entered accurately during activation.
No Earning or Usage Tracking:
- Ensure your charger is correctly activated in the app and connected to Wi-Fi. All usage is tracked automatically once activated and connected. Remember that sessions lost due to Wi-Fi outages are not reconstructed or credited.
