1. About the DashSharing Program

What is the DashSharing Program?

DashSharing is a connected EV charging ecosystem built to reward drivers. As an approved member, you'll receive a smart Level 2 charger under a flexible license. Once you hit your 1,500 kWh refund milestone, you’ll start earning cash for every kilowatt-hour delivered to your vehicle.

How does the DashSharing Program work?

Once accepted into the program and after paying a refundable security deposit, you receive a license to use a DashSharing Smart Charger at your residence. The charger tracks all energy delivered, providing two core benefits:

  1. Deposit Refund: Your security deposit is fully refunded once your charger delivers a total of 1,500 kWh (the Refund Milestone).

  2. Cash Earnings: You earn 10¢ per kWh after completing the deposit refund milestone.

How do cash earnings work?

All participants earn a top payout rate of 10¢ / kWh after reaching the 1,500 kWh refund milestone, regardless of whether they have the Standard or Ultra charger. The program is supported by carbon credits generated under Canada's federal Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR).

2. DashSharing Chargers & Compatibility

What is included with my charger?

Every licensed DashSharing Smart Charger includes:

  • Smart Level 2 charging unit

  • Mounting hardware kit

  • 18-foot charging cable (with J1772 or native NACS connector)

  • Cable holster

  • Access to the DashSharing App for activation and management

What is the difference between the Standard and Ultra Chargers?

The primary difference is their maximum power output:

  • Standard Charger: 40 Amps

  • Ultra Charger: 48 Amps

Note: Your home’s electrical panel must be able to support the charger's maximum output. If needed, DashSharing can adjust the charging rate via the backend to fit your electrical system.

What vehicles are compatible?

DashSharing chargers are compatible with all electric vehicles sold in North America. We offer chargers with both standard J1772 connectors and native NACS (Tesla) plugs, allowing consumers to select the right option for their specific vehicle needs:

  • NACS Plug: Designed for modern Tesla models and newer EVs natively equipped with a NACS port, providing a seamless connection without adapters.

  • J1772 Plug (J Plug): Designed for standard non-Tesla EVs. Tesla owners can also use this model with a standard J1772-to-NACS adapter.

Important Note for Legacy Tesla Owners (Pre-2016):

Early legacy Tesla vehicles manufactured prior to 2016 may experience compatibility issues with newer NACS plug specifications due to changes by Tesla. If you own a legacy Tesla from 2016 or earlier, we strongly recommend selecting the J1772 (J Plug) version of the charger and using your official Tesla J1772 adapter to ensure seamless, reliable charging.

Are the chargers weatherproof?

Yes. All DashSharing Smart Chargers carry a NEMA Type 3R rating, making them fully suitable for outdoor installation and capable of withstanding rain, snow, and extreme temperature variations.

However, even with full weatherproofing, we still recommend installing a small protective awning or canopy overhead. An extra shield provides additional protection against prolonged weather exposure and helps keep water, ice, and heavy snow off the charging handle and plug terminal.

3. Setup, Technology & Connectivity

How do I activate and manage my charger?

After your charger is installed in compliance with all local codes and electrical safety requirements (recommend to be installed by a licensed electrician), open the DashSharing app to:

  1. Add your home.

  2. Sign the Site Access Authorization.

  3. Add your charger.

  4. Enroll in direct deposit.

Once active, your charger automatically tracks usage and earnings over the network.

What can I monitor remotely in the app?

The DashSharing app let you track:

  • Live charger status

  • Refund milestone tracking progress
  • Delivered energy (kWh) and earnings ($) per session

  • Total lifetime energy (kWh) and earnings ($)

  • Current accrued earnings balance

What are the Wi-Fi requirements?

The charger must maintain a continuous Wi-Fi connection to report usage data and calculate earnings. If Wi-Fi drops, the unit allows a maximum of 5 offline charging sessions before disabling further use until reconnected. Sessions missed during offline periods cannot be credited retroactively.

4. Payouts, Fees & Program Policies

How do I withdraw my cash earnings?

  • Minimum Threshold: You can initiate a withdrawal once your accrued earnings reach $100.

  • Payout Method: Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) via direct deposit.

  • Payout Schedule: All withdrawals are processed on the 1st of every month via scheduled bank transfer.

Are there any ongoing or monthly fees?

There are currently no monthly fees. If monthly fees are introduced in the future, DashSharing will provide at least 30 days' advance notice.

What kind of support and warranty coverage is provided?

Active members in good standing receive:

  • Lifetime Warranty: Free replacement of the charger if a warranty claim is approved.

  • Lifetime Technical Support: Available via email at support@dashsharing.ca.

What happens if I move or have multiple homes?

The charger is licensed specifically to your account and remains the property of DashSharing. Multiple homes are permitted under a single account as long as all addresses are within Canada. To use or transfer your charger to another location, add the new address in the app, submit the required Site Access Authorization, and transfer the charger location within the app.

What happens if the program is terminated?

Either party may terminate participation at any time with or without cause:

  • The charger must be returned to DashSharing in good condition within 14 days (failure to return it may incur a replacement fee equal to its retail value, $650 for Standard Charger and $750 for Ultra Charger).

  • Any accrued earnings that have met or exceeded the $100 minimum withdrawal threshold will be paid out.

Do I have to pay taxes on earnings?

Members are responsible for reporting earnings according to local tax rules. DashSharing provides activity and earnings reports through the dashboard for your tax records.
